The plot of film was completely under wraps while production is going on. As told by Allu Arjun, "'Vedam' is a complex cocktail of five different interwoven stories". There will be five interwoven stories in the movie and each story belongs to one of the 5 main characters. Bollywood's Manoj Bajpai dons the role of another important character. The fifth character is a frail old man whose grandson is forced into indentured labour because of his inability to pay back the high interest on loans from a greedy creditor. The movie dialogues were really heart touching, manoj & arjun realy add frolic to the movie,is a film on humanity and is narrated in new format. And there are under-current commercial elements.[4]. Vedam also invokes topical themes--trafficking in organs and humans, and theft by a youth enamored by glitz--that deserve attention and debate[5].

The three main leads in this film are essayed by Allu Arjun, Anushka and Manoj Manchu. Cable Raju[Allu Arjun] is a cable operator from the lower strata of society; Vivek Chakravarthy[Manoj] is an upcoming rock star and Saroja[Anushka] is a sex worker. Manoj Bajpai plays the fourth character of Raheemuddin Qureishi. [6]
